The N900 runs on Maemo operating system and will come with support for 3G network connections. Apparently, this tablet will come embedded with ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. The features will allow users to effortlessly swap between several applications.
The N900 also allows users to personalize the homescreen with their favorite shortcuts, widgets and applications. The high-resolution WVGA touchscreen claims to enhance the internet browsing experience. The device boasts of a 32GB of storage and can be expandable up to 48GB by means of a microSD card. The other notable features include full QWERTY keyboard and 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics.

During the Nokia ‘N900 Meet Up’ in London, the Maemo Marketing Team appeared to leak news of Nokia’s 2012 roadmap and how it intends to replace Symbian with Maemo on all Nokia N-Series devices. This lead to quite a bit of confusion and until Nokia officially confirmed the reports, I refused to concur. Symbian is the most popular smartphone OS at present and holds 50% of the smartphone market. It would simply make no sense at all for Nokia to replace Symbian on it’s N-Series portfolio. Nokia
